GCSE Results 2026
Posted: 20th August 2026Students at BMAT STEM Academy are celebrating their GCSE results today, with a number of exceptional individual performances highlighting the strength of the Academy’s STEM-focused education.
Students achieved outstanding results across Mathematics, Further Mathematics, the Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering, including a number of Grade 9s alongside Distinction* outcomes in Engineering.
The results demonstrate the breadth of opportunities available to students at BMAT STEM Academy, with many now progressing into further study and specialist technical pathways aligned with their interests and ambitions.
Among the highest achieving students in Year 11 are:
- David Ndiwe: Six Grade 9s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer Science and all three Separate Sciences, alongside a Distinction* in Engineering. David will continue his STEM journey at A Level, studying Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science.
- Neema Mwangi: A Grade 9 in Chemistry, three Grade 8s in Mathematics, Biology and Computer Science, two Grade 7s including English, two Grade 6s and a Distinction* in Engineering. Neema will progress to A Levels in Mathematics, Chemistry and English.
- Jack Boys: A Grade 7 in Mathematics, Grade 6 in English, Grade 5s in Further Mathematics and Physics, alongside a Distinction in Engineering. Jack will progress to A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and English.
- Charlotte Braund: Grades 7-6 in Combined Science, a Grade 6 in Mathematics, Grade 5s in English and Further Mathematics, and a Distinction* in Engineering. Charlotte will progress to A Levels in Mathematics, Business and Psychology.
- Kian Cooke: A Grade 7 in Mathematics and Grade 6s in Further Mathematics and Chemistry. Kian will continue his studies at BMAT STEM Academy Sixth Form, progressing to A Levels in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
- Evie Ellis: A Grade 7 in Mathematics, Grades 7-6 in Combined Science and a Distinction* in Engineering. Evie will progress to A Levels in Business, Psychology and Design & Technology.
- Freddie Gardner: A Grade 7 in English, Grades 7-7 in Combined Science and a Grade 6 in Mathematics. Freddie will progress to A Levels in Politics, Economics and Psychology.
- Milan Jevtic: A Grade 7 in Mathematics, Grades 6-6 in Combined Science and a Grade 6 in Computer Science. Milan will progress to a T Level in Cyber Security, with ambitions to develop a career in the digital technology sector.
- Esjai Smith: A Grade 7 in Mathematics alongside Grade 6s in Further Mathematics and Computer Science. Esjai will progress to study Aviation at Stansted, taking his STEM education into a specialist technical pathway.
- Erik Sohonyai: A Grade 6 in Physics alongside a Distinction* in Engineering. Erik will progress to an apprenticeship in Heavy Commercial Engineering, providing a direct pathway into specialist training and future employment.

We have seen some exceptional individual performances across Mathematics, Further Mathematics, the Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering, including students achieving the very highest Grade 9s alongside Distinction* outcomes in Engineering.
“What makes these results particularly exciting is where our students are heading next. They are progressing to A Levels, T Levels, specialist technical courses and apprenticeships in areas including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Aviation and Engineering.
“At STEM Academy, our ambition is not simply for students to leave us with strong qualifications, but with the knowledge, technical skills and confidence to progress into ambitious future pathways. These students are a fantastic example of that, and I look forward to seeing them become the scientists, engineers, technologists and skilled professionals of the future.”
The Academy is proud of the achievements of its entire Year 11 cohort and the range of pathways students will now pursue. From academic A Levels and specialist technical courses to T Levels and apprenticeships, students are taking the knowledge, skills and confidence developed at BMAT STEM Academy into their chosen next steps.
