GCSE Media Studies
Why I should study Media Studies?
Companies are increasingly looking for well rounded employees who are able to confidently present and discuss their ideas with colleagues and clients. The Media Studies course at BMAT STEM supports students to develop their creative, analytical, research, and communication skills, through exploring a range of media forms and perspectives.
What does the course involve?
The Media Studies GCSE course is divided into three units:
Media one | Language and representation in media industries and with a range of audiences |
Media two | Analysis of case studies including film, television, newspapers and online |
Media project | Creating a media project |
You will have the opportunity to study a range of key topics in the industry including advertising and marketing considering audiences from radio, music, magazines and newspapers, online media, video games and the film industry.
You will also have the opportunity to link your study to the products and applications you have worked on in your other GCSE option course and apply the skills you have learnt in your English courses.
